Malaga 0 Barcelona 2
Barcelona made no mistake when they travelled to Malaga to take on the La Liga bottom club, Malaga.
Without the services of Lionel Messi, who was given leave to watch the birth of his third son, Barcelona won 2-0.
The opening goal of the game came from Luis Suarez who made no mistake with a header.
Paulinho should have doubled Barcelona`s lead but saw his shot hit the side-netting.
The game was effectively sealed when Philippe Coutinho, in the twenty-eighth minute, scored with a sensational back-heel to flick home a cross from Ousmane Dembele.
Malaga`s chances of getting back in to the game were diminished when they were reduced to ten-men following the dismissal of Samu Garcia, in the thirtieth minute for a bad foul on Jordi Alba.
The victory gives Barcelona an eleven-point led at the top of the table, although Atletico Madrid have a game in hand.
Meanwhile Malaga, who were the last side to beat Barcelona in La Liga, back on 8 April 2017, look doomed to relegation with the club eleven points adrift of safety with just ten games remaining.
Barcelona`s next game is on Wednesday when they welcome Chelsea to the Camp Nou for the second-leg of the last-16 knockout stage in the Champions League.
