Champions League - Chelsea 1 Barcelona 1

An entertaining game, at Stamford Bridge, saw Barcelona come away from London with a 1-1 draw, as their Champions League campaign resumed.

The draw gives Barcelona that vital away goal that could be so important when it comes to the second leg, at the Camp Nou, in just two-weeks` time.

The first thirty-minutes of the game saw Barcelona dominate possession but without creating any serious chances, with the home side struggling to win the ball and keep possession.

However, in a dramatic turnaround, the last fifteen minutes of the half saw Chelsea take control and the home side will feel a little aggrieved that 'Lady Luck` deserted them when Willain, Chelsea`s best player by a country-mile, struck both posts with curling shots that left ter Stegen well beaten.

Emerging for the second half, with the score at 0-0, Barcelona, once again, enjoyed the better share of possession but, just past the hour mark, Chelsea did take the lead and it was Barcelona`s chief tormentor, Willian, who scored with the Brazilian drilling a low shot, from just outside the penalty area, past ter Stegen.

Barcelona now had it all to do as the home side sensed they could increase their lead, but they reigning Premier league title holders were to concede an equaliser when a mistake by Andreas Christensen allowed Iniesta to find Lionel Messi with a pass and the Argentine striker made no mistake with his shot, beating Thibaut Courtois in the Chelsea goal.

For Messi, the goal ended a personal drought of 730 minutes against a club who he`d never previously scored against.

The draw gives Barcelona the slight-edge, courtesy of that away goal, in the second-leg which is scheduled for 14 March, but Barcelona will have to be on their game as Chelsea showed they are more than capable of upsetting the apple-cart given half the chance.
