Barcelona Looking to Get Back to Winning Ways

Barcelona Looking to Get Back to Winning Ways

Recently, Barcelona have suffered a minor dip in form, only drawing La Liga games against Espanyol and Getafe.

Their critics have suggested that the side is beginning to show signs of fatigue, not a good thing with the Champions League campaign set to resume, in midweek, with a trip to take on Chelsea.

At his pre-match press conference, ahead of the fixture against Eibar, Ernesto Valverde spoke about this apparent tiredness, remarking to those assembled,

'It is more mental than physical, the weeks when you have four days' rest you can manage better than three.

'We will have three before we take on Chelsea and Chelsea will have four. That day extra, to have a break from the pressure of staying in the cup is good to have.

'But in terms of important games, the one on Saturday is also and we are not thinking about Chelsea. The week was free and now we have games again after each other.

'We need to get going again and after the Getafe game this is now even more important.'

Indeed, it is, our closest challengers in La Liga, Atletico Madrid, have maintained their good form and reduced the gap in the last two weeks with wins against Valencia and Malaga.

Now is not the time to falter!
