Barcelona`s New Signing Explains His Ritual

The January transfer window has been open for just two weeks and already Barcelona have acted swiftly to make quite an impact.
Hot-on-the-heels of having signed Philippe Coutinho, from Liverpool, for a fee of £142 million, the club announced the signing of the Colombian centre-back Yerry Mina.
Mina, just 23-years-of-age, joins Barcelona from the South American club Palmeiras and is expected to develop into a vital cog in the Barcelona defensive machine, during his time at the Camp Nou.
However, during his presentation at the Camp Nou, many Barcelona supporters might have been puzzled by the sight of the new centre-back taking off his boots and socks before he strode out on to the famous playing surface.
Well it seems, according to the news source Mundodeportivo, it was due to religious reasons with Mina explain it was influenced by a verse in the bible, a verse which reads,
'With the soles of your feet you will touch the ground you want to conquer.'
What a lovely verse and what a fine gesture.
Vital Barcelona welcomes Yerry Mina to our fine club, here`s hoping it is a long and successful stay.
