Leganes 0 Barcelona 3

Leganes 0 Barcelona 3

Faced with one of those games where, last season, you`d be worried Barcelona, with a heavy schedule, might slip up, Barcelona made no mistake against Leganes and ensured the three points were won.

It probably wasn`t one of the best displays Barcelona had produced this season but, sometimes, the result is of paramount importance.

Any pressure on getting the victory was eased when Luis Suarez gave Barcelona the lead, thereby ending a personal goal drought that had lasted 479 minutes.

The opening goal came after the Leganes keeper, Ivan Cuellar, misjudged the flight of a ball in from Paco Alcacer and Suarez was able to net from close-range.

Although Leganes put up a spirited display, Ter Stegen, in the Barcelona goal, was rarely in trouble and the points were probably wrapped up when, on the hour mark, Luis Suarez scored his second goal of the game when his shot took a deflection to beat Cuellar.

As the clock ran down, Paulinho netted a third goal for Barcelona, after an assist from Lionel Messi, to keep their unbeaten start to the La Liga season and extend the run to twelve games.

The win keeps Barcelona on top of the table some seven points clear of Valencia and a huge ten points clear of Real Madrid.
