Barcelona 2 Malaga 0

Barcelona 2 Malaga 0

The Camp Nou returned to normality last night for a La Ligue match.

With the last La Liga home game played behind closed doors, as a result of the Catalan Independence vote getting out of hand, paying customers were, this time, actually allowed to watch their heroes in action.

However, against Malaga any late arrivals may well have missed the first goal of the game when, with just two minutes on the clock, Gerard Deulofeu scored his first goal for the club. But the goal had an element of controversy about it as the ball clearly looked to have gone out of play before Lucas Digne could deliver his fine cross.

The second and decisive goal, came in the second half, in the fifty-sixth minute, when Lionel Messi`s ball found Andres Iniesta and his shot, although it took a deflection, beat Andres Prieto in the Malaga goal.

The goal scored by Iniesta was the first he`d scored in over a year, the last time being in the Champions League, against Celtic in September 2016.

The win maintains Barcelona`s excellent unbeaten run to the season with eight wins from nine games and a solitary draw.

The result sees Barcelona lead the La Liga table with a lead of four points over Valencia who are also unbeaten this season.
