Barcelona Increase Offer for Dortmund Striker

Nine days to go before the summer transfer window slams shut and we reckon there`s some frantic activity going on deep in the inner sanctum of the Camp Nou.

With Neymar Jnr having been sold, for a world record transfer fee of €222 million, Barcelona are still looking to fill the void left by the Brazilian`s departure.

One player seen as the perfect replacement and one who if signed would give years of service, is Ousmane Dembele.

The Borussia Dortmund forward, just 20-years-of-age has been the subject of speculation for several weeks, speculation we`ve covered on an almost daily basis.

However, obtaining the youngsters signature on a contract has not yet been forthcoming.

Today though, the media vehicle Sky Deutschland is reporting that having had an initial offer rejected, Barcelona have offered the Bundesliga club a higher offer.

Our referenced source is reporting that Barcelona have made an offer, said to be of the magnitude of €130 million for the player.

But it should be pointed out that Borussia Dortmund are holding out for at least €150 million before any business can be conducted.

Like we`ve said before, this one could go right down to the wire and be sealed (or not as may be the case) right on the transfer deadline.
