Roberto Enjoying Life at Barcelona Now

Netting the second and decisive goal last night, at the Camp Nou would have been a satisfying experience for Sergi Roberto.

The midfielder has, this summer, been the subject of transfer speculation, tittle-tattle that linked him with a move to the English Premier League.

However, Roberto has been assured that he is part of Ernesto Valverde`s plans for this season and will not be sold.

After not featuring on a regular basis in the pre-season games, Roberto was part of the starting eleven against Real Betis and after the game the midfielder had this to say to the media,

'I'm happy. Against Real Madrid in the Super Cup I was happy on a personal level and I felt comfortable today, too. I played in my favoured midfield position.

'I started at the Bernabeu and the coach has given me confidence. I've scored today and I want to be important. In pre-season I wasn't starting, but now in the official matches I am playing more. I want to continue here and continue like this.'

If Roberto can chip in with the odd goal, or two, like last night he could well be a regular in the Barcelona midfield in the coming months.
