Abidal Queries Mbappe`s Price-Tag

Abidal Queries Mbappe`s Price-Tag

There has been a lot of talk recently surrounding the future of the teenage Monaco striker, Kylian Mbappe.

The 18-year-old has sprung to prominence with the La Ligue club after netting 26 times for Monaco, in all competitions last season.

Day after day Mbappe is linked with a move to one of the top sides in Europe with Monaco doing their utmost to hang on to their prized asset.

In order to hold on to Mbappe, Monaco are suggesting that any club that harbours ambitions of securing his services will have to pay a transfer fee of £120 million, a huge amount for someone so young.

Eric Abidal, our former player who was given ambassadorial status earlier this week, is someone who believes that Mbappe`s price is way over the top with the former Barcelona player remarking to Cadena Ser,

'Mbappe is a good player, but his price is not £120 million.

'I still think he wants to stay in Monaco and confirm his level there.

'He has to make a decision also thinking about his game minutes, because this is the year of the World Cup.

'When you start to pay £100m as was done by Pogba, then for a player with more talent you have to reach £200m and that does not represent the value of the players.

'Here at Barca, what price would be paid for Messi or Neymar?'

Exactly, although it does make you wonder where the top-limit for a transfer fee will actually settle.
