Former Barca Player Takes over Leeds Managerial Role

Former Barca Player Takes over Leeds Managerial Role

Today the English Championship club, Leeds United, announced the name of their latest manager.

It is a name that might very well be familiar to ardent Barcelona fans.

The latest incumbent of the managerial hot-seat, at Elland Road, is Thomas Christiansen.

Christiansen, who faces a hard task at Leeds to restore the club to their former glory, is a Dane who was once on the books of Barcelona.

Thomas Christiansen joined Barcelona as an 18-year-old back in 1991.

The youngster stayed with Barcelona for five years but didn`t ever make that breakthrough into the first-team squad.

Now 44-years-old, Christiansen`s spell at Barcelona came to an end in 1996, when he moved to Oviedo.

Twelve months later he was on the move again, this time joining Villarreal.

Further career moves saw the Dane return to Denmark where he played for Herføgle before moving to Germany to finish his playing career with Bochum and then Hanover.

Christiansen retired in 2006 after fifteen years as a professional footballer.

Here at Vital Barcelona we wish Thomas Christiansen all the best in his latest career move.
