Could a Change in the Hot-Seat Help Denis Suarez?

Could a Change in the Hot-Seat Help Denis Suarez?

The 2017 / 2018 season could be a pivotal one for Denis Suarez.

With a new man in charge of the side, Ernesto Valverde, Denis will be hoping that he is given a chance to shine.

Last season Denis was restricted to just twelve starts in La Liga and spent time out on loan with Valencia.

Now back at the Camp Nou, the 23-year-old has been the subject of interest from the Serie A outfit, but it is with Barcelona that the midfielder wants to forge a career, remarking to the media,

"I played a lot at the start of the season, then after Christmas I was at a good level creating and scoring goals.

"But then my progression slowed down, I wasn`t in the squad as much. There`s a lot of really good midfielders at Barcelona, but you always have to look at the positives.

"I`m at a great club, I`ve had a year to learn and adapt and next season I will fight to the death. My target is to be a success at Barca. I`m going to fight to be a regular."

If that is the case then Suarez will have to improve on his record of three goals in thirty-two appearances in the 2016 / 2017 season.

Also, with Barcelona looking to improve the squad, competition could, next season, be fiercer than ever.
