Barca Title Hopes Suffer Huge Blow

Barca Title Hopes Suffer Huge Blow

Last night, Barcelona fans around the globe, had their fingers crossed that Celta Vigo could do us a huge favour.

Ahead of their home match with Real Madrid last night, Barcelona and Real Madrid were tied at the top of La Liga with eighty-seven points, although a far superior goal difference meant Barcelona topped the table.

Unfortunately, Barcelona had played a game more than their rivals and needed Celta Vigo to get a result against Real Madrid to make the last round of La Liga matches very interesting this weekend.

But it wasn`t to be.

Although Celta Vigo held out for ten minutes they were, eventually, humbled on their own ground, with Real Madrid winning 4-1.

Two goals from Ronaldo gave Real Madrid a 2-0 lead before Iago Aspas gave Barca fans there may be a twist in the tale reducing the arrears.

When Guidetti made it 2-2 in the sixty-ninth minute Barca fans danced a jig of delight, but any thoughts of a Celta Vigo win were dashed a minute later when Benzema scored and the three points were wrapped up two minutes from time when Kroos made it 4-2.

Barca go into the final round of fixtures having to beat Eibar at the Camp Nou whilst Real Madrid to lose away to Malaga.

Can anyone see it happening?
