Barcelona president gone into hiding

Barcelona president gone into hiding

Has Josep Maria Bartomeu, the President of Barcelona really gone into hiding following the 4-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain?

Well, if the hasn't that is what he has been accused of by former former club president Joan Laporta.

When Barcelona are humiliated on the pitch, there isn't anyone who is safe from blame, be it the manager, the players or the president.

The fans look to all of the above for their reaction. But nothing has been forthcoming, something which is seen as bad leadership by Laporta.

'You feel messed up [as president]. The first reaction that comes into your head is to go out, send a message of recognition [for what happened], look forward and live from repentance.' he told RAC1 as quoted by Spanish media outlet Sport.

But Laporta didn't just stop there in his accusations of Bartomeu, he took the opportunity to complete a full character assassination.

'It surprised me that Bartomeu didn't come out, the president of Barcelona. I haven't seen him anywhere. It's another test about what I think of him. It's been a while since this board started destroying Barcelona, the only thing they are doing is taking advantage of what we left and dedicating themselves to their own business, doing their own thing. It's dangerous to leave Barcelona in the hands of this board.'
